Vision

To work as a center for emotional support and advocacy on behalf of survivors of torture and abuse, marginalized groups and communities facing violence and extinction that leads to their empowerment and justice.

To heal children and women going through post traumatic stress disorder and communities facing ethnic, caste and all forms of violence.

To conduct research in issues dealing with violence, terrorism and hatred and formulate strategies for protection of vulnerable populations facing the above.

Mission

Our mission is to enable, support every individual and community to live with dignity and hope after trauma, injustice, violence and any kind of despair leading to loss of their humanity.

We hope to lead towards a society where people become free of a victim mindset and their exist institutions that deliver hope and justice.

Values

Swanchetan stands of the rights and dignity of all survivors to express their voice, opinion and suffering caused by perpetrators of their trauma and to obtain humane care and psychological support.

Swanchetan recognizes access to mental health as indivisible with one’s political and fundamental right of every human being that can lead to creation of healing societies.

Swanchetan believes that the poor, the marginalized and the ostracized deserve the highest standards of mental health services and mental health professionals by recognizing the need to integrate their approach that is grounded and rooted in the persons political rights and freedom.
