Swanchetan
works with victims of trauma and their families with the underlying mission of
providing psychological support to the affected individuals and communities in
the society. We believe that this support should be available to anyone who
needs it irrespective of their economical background. Hence we provide this
service in a honorary capacity and do not charge any fee from the victims or
their families or the agencies that we collaborate with. Swanchetan is with the
victims in darkest hour of their lives. Once the darkest hour lifts and turns
into hope Swanchetan leaves the survivor with visions of hope and the message
that they can also give a voice to other victims and undertake responsibility/
participation in advocating the survivors' cause. Swanchetan believes that
indifference on the part of both the largest and the smallest member of the
society can wane with awareness.
Our reward is in helping increasing members of
society to understand and embrace the importance of providing the right and
timely support to the victim so that, a) we bring about a societal change in
the attitude towards victims b) and help the law enforcement in addressing the
crime.
Swanchetan's funding and financial support
comes from those who understand the above philosophy and the impact our work
will have in changing the fabric of victimology in India. Many individuals and
organizations that understand their moral responsibilities to the cause of the
victims and their obligation to leave behind a crime free society help us with
the funds required to continue our programs.
Swanchetan does not accept funding or support
from organizations or individuals that are affiliated with any particular
religion, political party or are not favorable to the cause of survivors.
